Procedure
- Place one potato in the cooking pot
- Put water about halfway up the pot
- Boil the water for 2 minutes
- Measure the temperature of the potato after it was boiled
- Surround the pot with aluminum foil
- Put the pot with the insulation inside the cardboard box
- Close the box
- After an hour record the temperature of the interior of the potatoes using the cooking thermometer
- Remove the foil
- Throw away the potato and pour the water out of the pot
- Wash the pot
- Repeat step 1,2, 3 and 4
- Surround the pot with cloth
- Put the pot inside the box and close the box
- Record the temperature of the potatoes with the thermometer after an hour
- Remove the cloth
- Throw away the potato and pour the water out
- Wash the pot
- Repeat step 1,2,3 and 4
- Surround the pot with newspaper
- Put the pot inside the box and close the box
- Record the temperature of the potatoes with the thermometer after an hour
- Remove the newspaper
- Throw away the potato and pour the water out
- Wash the pot
- Repeat step 1,2, 3 and 4
- Put the pot inside the box and close the box
- Record the temperature of the potatoes with the thermometer after an hour
- This will be the control
- Throw away the potato and pour the water out
- Wash the pot
- Repeat procedures for repeated trials
