The potatoes were put in pots and were boiled for 2 minutes. Temperatures were measured after the potato was boiled. They all got the same temperature of 96 degrees Fahrenheit. The pots were wrapped in insulation. Another set of data was collected after an hour was passed. After an hour the potatoes were all the same color as before. The control was 94 degrees Fahrenheit. Both the aluminum foil and cloth were 93 degrees Fahrenheit. The potato covered in newspaper insulation got the highest of 95 degrees Fahrenheit. This is because newspaper is cellulose. Cellulose is a superb air-blocker. It has a high R-value which is the level of resistance to heat flow. Tightly packed cellulose provides a thermally efficient and cost-effective solution.

This data supports the hypothesis. The results were expected but a source of error was that there should have been more time to boil the water. The newspaper got the highest of 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The hypothesis was correct newspaper got the highest temperature. The data matches with the hypothesis.

Everyone is using insulation these days. It could be for anything like your home. People use insulation to trap heat in their homes when it is cold in the winter time. It is efficient and cheap. If people used insulators to help cook food it will be energy efficient and save a lot of money. If people need help to keep their homes warm they could use insulation instead of fossil fuels. Further studying of insulation can help with conserving more fossil fuels and use more insulators to heat people's homes. This will allow less pollution in the air from all that burnt fossil fuels and save a lot of money.
